Job Function: Part-Time Parks Crew Worker

Job Location: Cedar Lake Parks Department; 7408 Constitution Avenue, Cedar Lake, IN 46303

Compensation:  This position has a maximum hourly rate of $15.91.

Job Summary:

Town of Cedar Lake Parks Department Crew Worker is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of all parks open spaces, facilities, and equipment. Including cleaning and maintaining facilities, shelters, and restrooms as well as replenishing appropriate supplies. Performs specialized projects as assigned.

Desired Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or GED
2. At least one (1) year experience in landscaping-related activities
3. Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience using a zero-turn lawnmower
2. General knowledge of power tools, trimmers, and light duty trucks

Compensation:          This position has a maximum bi-weekly salary of $2,552.14. Benefits include health insurance with medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, participation in the Indiana Public Retirement System 1977 Police Officers’ & Firefighters’ Retirement Fund, and paid time off and vacation. The Town of Cedar Lake has an employee assistance program through Franciscan Health.

Department members are trained to respond to events involving hazardous materials, water rescue, and structural incidents. The department provides emergency medical and fire response, plan reviews, building inspections, public education, community outreach, and more.

Minimum Requirements:

1. State of Indiana/Nationally Accredited Paramedic
2. State of Indiana Firefighter I/II
3. Valid State of Indiana Driver’s License
4. High School Diploma or equivalent
5. Must be able to obtain a CPAT or equivalent certificate
