The Town of Cedar Lake is accepting applications for an appointment to the Plan Commission. Residents interested in applying may pick up an application at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office located at 7408 Constitution Avenue from 8:00AM until 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, or download the Board and Commission Application from the Town’s website at https://cedarlakein.org/Documents/TownForms/TC/Boards_and_Commissions_Application.pdf
Applications may be submitted in person at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office or emailed to Clerk-Treasurer Jennifer Sandberg at jennifer.sandberg@cedarlakein.org. Proof of residency is required and shall consist of a valid driver’s license or state identification card. This open seat requires a Democrat political affiliation. Applications must be received by 4:30PM on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Compensation:          This position has a maximum bi-weekly salary of $2,552.14. Benefits include health insurance with medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, participation in the Indiana Public Retirement System 1977 Police Officers’ & Firefighters’ Retirement Fund, and paid time off and vacation. The Town of Cedar Lake has an employee assistance program through Franciscan Health.
Job Summary:Â Â Â Â The Town of Cedar Lake Fire Department serves and protects over 14,000 citizens within a rapidly growing community. Department members are trained to respond to events involving hazardous materials, water rescue, and structural incidents. The department provides emergency medical and fire response, plan reviews, building inspections, public education, community outreach, and more.
Minimum Requirements:
- State of Indiana/Nationally Accredited Paramedic
- State of Indiana Firefighter I/II
- Valid State of Indiana Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain a CPAT or equivalent certificate

The Town of Cedar Lake Fire Department is conducting an open application process for individuals who are certified State of Indiana Firefighter I/II and State of Indiana/Nationally Accredited EMT-B or Paramedic. The Department will accept applications to develop a candidate list for future department openings.
