Job Summary:  The Town of Cedar Lake Fire Department serves and protects over 14,000 citizens within a rapidly growing community. Department members are trained to respond to events involving hazardous materials, water rescue, as well as structural incidents. The department provides emergency medical and fire response, plan reviews, building inspections, public education, community outreach, and much more.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:
1. State of Indiana/Nationally Accredited EMT-B or Paramedic
2. State of Indiana Firefighter I/II
3. Valid State of Indiana Driver’s License
4. High School Diploma or equivalent

The Town of Cedar Lake Parks Department is accepting applications for Part-Time, Seasonal Soccer Referees

Pay Range: $12.50 per hour

Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, the Soccer Referee will be responsible for following and enforcing league rules as they pertain to the different age levels of soccer.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or G.E.D.
2. Grassroots Referee Certification preferred but not required
3. Working knowledge of the rules of the game from either previous refereeing or playing experience
4. Ability to communicate effectively via e-mail, phone and in person with Recreation Coordinator as well as a diverse group of people participating at various ages
5. Knowledge of and ability to enforce and explain the rules of the game

This position requires an employee to be on their feet for a majority of their shift in different types of weather. During that time, the employee will experience different levels of exertion depending on the age level they are officiating. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds.

Parks Open Space Groundskeeper

Pay Range: $13.00-$15.45/hr.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with maintenance of parks, open spaces, buildings and assisting with events and activities.

Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Must be 18 years or older
Valid State Driver’s License
Must be able to lift, carry and push/pull objects up to 50lbs
Ability to operate Zero-turn mowers and perform grounds maintenance

Applicants will be required to take a pre-employment drug screen, pass a criminal background check, and provide proof of a valid driver’s license.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Probationary Patrolman

Cedar Lake Police Department is accepting applications for Patrolman. This is an open application process for Certified Officers and non-Certified individuals. Cedar Lake Police Department is a competitive, progressive Department experiencing major growth in the community. CLPD will be accepting applications to develop a candidate list for the next year. Cedar Lake is expecting to hire two Officers in the next few months along with potentially more in the future.
