Redevelopment Commission Façade Improvement Program

At the October 21, 2019 Redevelopment Commission meeting, the board approved the creation of a façade grant improvement program, which set aside $100,000 towards this program for upcoming year.

The RDC has been working on a variety of projects throughout Town one being the development of a façade grant improvement program. The program is designed to promote continued use and maintenance of commercial and mixed use buildings in the Town’s commercial corridors.  It is intended to aid and assist property owners and commercial tenants in rehabilitation and restoration of the visible exterior, landscaping and pedestrian entrances/exterior components of buildings.  Applicants may receive up to 50% reimbursement for improvements valued at minimum $7500 with a 5 year commitment to maintain the improvements made.

Applications will be reviewed on a first come/first serve basis by the RDC. For more information on requirements, funding eligibility please see the attached application below.  Please drop off your application at Town Hall Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm or attend a Redevelopment Commission public meeting held on the 3rd Monday monthly at 6 pm in Cedar Lake Town Hall Conference Room located at 7408 Constitution Ave, Cedar Lake, IN  46303.
