Lake Shore Drive/Cline Avenue Intersection Improvement/Roundabout Project
Road infrastructure improvement and safety continue to be a priority for the Town of Cedar Lake. Observing the Lake Shore Drive/Cline Avenue intersection to be a key area for safety and traffic flow, the Town requested and received approval for federal funding ($2M) to develop this intersection into a round-a-bout (Total $2.9M). Initially, the project received approval for implementation in 2022, but through the efforts of Town Administrator, Jill Murr, this project will commence summer of 2019. This past fall, the reputable firm Walsh and Kelly was awarded the contract to build the round-a-bout. Utility Relocation Work has started, and it is anticipated that significant construction will commence following the Fourth of July. Town officials are highly aware of this area’s high seasonal traffic, and have requested the over-seeing engineer to enable traffic as much as possible during the construction period.
Please use caution when traveling in this area as lane delays will occur. Traffic may be limited to one lane at times.
We thank you for your patience, as we improve our roadways and enable the safety for our residents and our visitors.
