The first bill for the user fee was mailed to all property owners in Cedar Lake on December 6, 2007. The user fee will be included with the sewer billing. The rates and additional information were mailed to all sewer customers last summer; you can find a copy of the brochure here. The storm water user fees will be used for several different purposes. The fees will be the revenue source for the Stormwater Management Program aimed at improving the Town through:
ConsolidationIn Cedar Lake, many residents have multiple adjacent parcels that make up their property. Each parcel will have its own identifying tax key number. We are required to bill the owner for each parcel; however, you may have these parcels consolidated into one single tax key number in an effort to reduce your stormwater drainage fee. For additional Information about Consolidating Lots click here to view our informational brochure on lot consolidation. In order to consolidate lots, property owners are required to fill out a Combination Request at the County Auditor’s Office. The form must be submitted to the Lake County Auditor’s Office located at: Lake County Government Center

All businessess will be accessible during construction. Temporary lanes will be constructed to maintain traffic; however, please be patient during the inevitable delays. Alternate routes include 129th Avenue to the north and 141st Avenue to the south. Both alternates are accessible from Rt. 41 as well as Parrish Avenue. Streetscape ProjectTown leaders gathered at 4 PM on Friday, October 26, 2007 to break ground on a nearly $500,000 streetscape project at Morse Street and 133rd Avenue. The busy three-way intersection is the Cedar Lake's main entry point from the east. The project, funded by a $495,000 grant secured by U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Ind., will include sidewalks, street resurfacing, benches, trees and other features. The project is expected to get under way next spring.
